Modern Black History Archive

Black History Month traditionally celebrates heroes of the past. This ignores one simple truth––Black history is still being written. Stored at Hennessy’s Maison in Cognac, the archive chronicles Black culture in the present day through a collection of filmic and printed matter. The archive launched in February 2018 during Black History Month with a short film featuring NYC street photographer Andre Wagner and will continue to grow and evolve, celebrating black culture as it happens across America.
